Continuing Education
live, hands-on courses
Why sign up for the In-person class?
We are massage therapists, we should be taking hands-on classes. There are so few of them out there, take advantage of the opportunity now.
Each class is designed with the massage therapist in mind. Everyone learns differently, and Joyce understands that. Auditory learners, visual learners, kinesthetic learners, and tactile learners will experience visual aids, hands-on practice, lecture, and handouts, with ample opportunities to give and receive the bodywork techniques. There will be large group lectures, small group discussions, and time to reflect on your own. Joyce gets it – massage therapists need time to reflect and recharge. Not only will you leave her classes with new ideas and techniques, but you will leave feeling positive and inspired – not drained from a long day of being poked and prodded.

Massage Community Weekend
September 25 – 27, 2020
St. Margaret’s Retreat Center | 47 Jordan Road, New Hartford, NY
Friday
The weekend begins at 12:30pm on Friday, September 25th. Check-in to your room and buckle up for a weekend of education, relaxation, and community.
Friday afternoon includes a course exploring the lower back, glutes, and upper leg in prone, supine, and side-lying. From deep techniques to fascial work, it is all included in this exploration of healing techniques for low back pain. Let go of feeling intimidated if you are faced with a client with sciatica or a vertebral disc herniation. After the course, we will enjoy dinner and an outdoor campfire in the crisp, fall, upstate air.
Saturday
Saturday is a day for reflection and relaxation. It begins with a stretch session before our home-cooked breakfast. It is a full day of massage trades, a boundaries discussion, lunch, and self-care workshops. Can you believe you are getting CEUs for this?! End the day with dinner and enjoy spending the evening however you would like. Journal in the living room, take a meditative walk on the trails around the house, or read in the library. There are many nooks and crannies to enjoy time to yourself to reflect upon the day.
Sunday
Sunday concludes the weekend with stretch class, breakfast, and a self-care workshop on “The little Things” – ideas to observe self-care sprinkled throughout your day.
